A Brief History of Kin Ryu Judo Club
Kin Ryu Judo Club was founded by Mick Leigh in 1976 in Crawley, West Sussex, England. Originally the club was based at the original Crawley Leisure Centre, and after some time moving between locations has now recently settled in the new Crawley K2 Lesiure Centre.
Kin Ryu in Japanese means The Golden Dragon.

Boys and Girls Squad Manager, helping to produce National, Area

from 1974 - 1989, representing Sussex and the Southern Area on
numerous occasions both as a junior and a senior.

The club has also produced many British Kata Champions, Southern Area
Champions and
countless Sussex County Champions.
Kin Ryu Made a clean sweep in The National Kata Championships, and were Champions in all four Kata in 1993.
For five years running, Kin Ryu had the best junior club in Sussex and was one of the three largest Judo clubs in Great Britain.
Kin Ryu Has visited and hosted clubs from Switzerland, Sweden, Greece, Germany, France, The Czech Republic and Poland.
